Get to know Brad Eiken, the founding member of Inside the Lines, as he talks about his inspiration behind ITL, his heroes, shocking traits about him, and more.
What role are you currently in?
Business Development and Coach
What was your inspiration behind Inside The Lines?
The Columbia area was lacking a full-service furniture dealership. And viola, Inside the Lines was born to do just that. Think of a blueprint—we help clients furnish and design all areas inside the lines of a blueprint.
Why are you passionate about ITL?
I’m passionate about ITL because we’re unique, creative, value based, and personal. Our clients fully understand that the team at ITL takes full ownership of results. I measure results by the number of friends I make through business, and I’m proud to say that the list continues to grow.
What has been your favorite project you’ve done?
That’s a tough one.
What do you love most about your job?
There’s an art to our industry. It’s not an exact science, and no two projects are the same. Creating win-win results for all parties, and building lifelong relationships and friendships is the most rewarding.
What is your favorite activity to do when you’re not working?
I love hanging out with my honey and doing whatever she wants to do, whether it’s gardening, traveling, playing games, or simply watching movies.
Who is your hero?
My parents. They’ve navigated through extreme adversity from the depression to current day, and had the tenacity to always look at what could be. I owe my optimistic outlook, work ethics, and empathetic nature to them.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I thrive on making people laugh, and for at least one-minute, forgetting about all the crap in the world. So I guess if I were to put a name on the superpower it would be “the eliminator.” Life is too short to be overburdened all the time. There is a bright side to everything: eliminate the bad thoughts and concentrate on the good.
What is your favorite thing to do in Columbia?
Help my fellow business associates feel good about their work environment, stimulate our local economy, and make Columbia a better place to live. Oh yeah, then there’s Logboat.
What are your hobbies?
Golf, yard work, and not settling for good enough.
What’s a trait people are shocked to find out about you?
Intuition and sensitivity, but don’t tell anyone!
